In order to connect your in-venue or pickup/delivery ordering through Mr Yum with a Doshii-partnered POS there are a number of steps to follow. This guide will help you go through these steps, and ensure you can finalise your connection. If you need help at any turn please email Doshii Support (support@doshii.io) and we'll be glad to help you.
Get started with Doshii
In order to get connected you must first activate your Doshii services. If you haven't done this yet, please sign up at https://doshii.io/get-started
Setup your Doshii Dashboard account
As part of your sign up, Doshii will provide you with a login to the Doshii Dashboard (https://dashboard.doshii.io). Through the Doshii Dashboard you will be able to see your POS menu and the menu item 'posIds' that are necessary for the connection to Mr Yum.
If you haven't setup your login, or don't remember your login credentials, simply email support@doshii.io and we'll make sure to set you up with your account.
Map out your Mr Yum menu with your POS menu
Doshii facilitates the connection between Mr Yum and your POS to ensure your customer orders are printed directly to your kitchen printers and appear in your POS Sales reports.
To achieve this, menu items ordered by a customer in Mr Yum need to be mapped to their appropriate POS menu items, as you would know them on your POS keypads. This is to ensure:
- Stock inventories are maintained correctly in your POS
- The dockets print the correct items and your kitchen staff know what to cook.
- Minimise the need to create new menu items in your POS unnecessarily.
The mapping of menu items is facilitated through the Mr Yum platform by using the POS ID field under each item. The POS ID you enter needs to reflect the POS sale item that best matches the Mr Yum sale item.
Using Doshii Dashboard to obtain POS IDs
You can use the Doshii Dashboard to view your POS menu, and retrieve the correct POS IDs. We explain how in this article: How to view your POS Menu in Doshii
Important difference between a Menu Item and Menu Variants
Your POS will distinguish between menu items and menu variants (also known as options or modifiers).
For example, a 'Burger' is an item, and 'Add Cheese' is a menu variant. It is important to ensure that for Mr Yum Menu Items you use a POS ID that maps to an item in your POS, and for Menu Variants you use a POS ID that maps to a variant (or modifier) in your POS.
Testing the connection
Once you have completed mapping out your menu your Mr Yum onboarding consultant will conduct some tests. These will allow you to confirm that the test orders are printing the desired items in your kitchen.
