It's easy to get Uber Eats connected with Doshii. This connection allows your Uber orders to flow directly into your Point of Sale (POS) without having to manually accept or reject orders on your tablet and orders will print in your kitchen like any other order. This saves you time and removes human error from manually keying in orders.
Connecting Uber Eats to Doshii
If you haven't already, sign up to Doshii at doshii.com.
After logging in to Doshii, navigate to the ‘Apps’ tab and locate the Uber Eats app in our marketplace. When you click to connect with Uber Eats, you will be redirected to log into your Uber Eats account to authorise access for Doshii. If you have multiple venues, you will also be asked to confirm which Doshii venue you want to connect with your Uber Eats site.
What happens after I connect Uber Eats?
We aim to have your Uber Eats integration up and running as fast as possible. For this reason, once your POS connection is active, our integration allows us to retrieve your existing Uber Eats menu, including item names, descriptions, prices and images and use this as a basis to map your menu to your POS items. This saves significant time as we don’t need to completely rebuild your menu.
When your integrated Uber Eats menu is ready, our CS team will reach out to you to schedule a go-live date - from this date, your Uber Eats integration will be activated and orders will begin to flow directly to your POS system.
Depending on your POS system, there can be a waiting period between when you sign up and when you can go live with an integrated Uber Eats menu. While we work with your POS provider to get your venue connected and build your integrated Uber Eats menu, your Uber Eats account will continue to function normally - sending orders to your tablet.
Depending on if you are an existing Doshii customer or a new Doshii customer, and the POS system that you use, there is a slightly different timeline towards going live with your Uber Eats integration.
For existing Doshii customers with a live POS connection
If you are already a Doshii customer and you have an active connection with your POS, when you request the Uber Eats integration, Doshii will automatically subscribe your venue to Uber Eats. Our CS team will be able to retrieve your existing Uber Eats menu and begin mapping this to your POS items. Once we have the majority of the menu built, our CS team will seek your approval to activate the integration and orders will begin to flow to your POS.
For new Doshii customers who use Square or Lightspeed POS
If your POS is Square or Lightspeed, as soon as you sign up to Doshii, your POS connection will be live. We will automatically subscribe your venue to Uber Eats. Our CS team will be able to retrieve your existing Uber Eats menu and begin mapping this to your POS items. Once we have the majority of the menu built, our CS team will seek your approval to activate the integration and orders will begin to flow to your POS.
For new Doshii customers who use all other POS:
If you are new to Doshii and your POS is not Square or Lightspeed, there is a delay between when you request your POS connection and when it becomes active - during this time Doshii CS work closely with your POS system to get this connection established. Doshii will not subscribe your venue to Uber Eats until this connection is active. Once subscribed, our CS team will be able to retrieve your existing Uber Eats menu and begin mapping this to your POS items. Once we have the majority of the menu built, our CS team will seek your approval to activate the integration and orders will begin to flow to your POS.
Initial Setup
When your Uber Eats integration via Doshii is activated, there are a number of changes that will automatically take place and it's important that you are aware of them. When your Uber Eats integration is activated, the following will occur:
Uber Eats Menu Maker will be turned off (this is because your menu will now be an integrated menu controlled via the Doshii Dashboard). As part of your onboarding, you will receive training on how to use this.
The ability to manually accept or reject an order via your Uber Eats tablet as a default will be turned off. This means that all orders will be automatically accepted by your venue and sent to your POS.
If there is no response from your POS for 90 seconds after an order has been submitted, the order will fall back to your Uber Eats tablet. You will have 10 minutes to manually accept and key the order into your POS, or to reject the order. If no response is received within 10 minutes, Uber Eats will automatically cancel the order
If your POS rejects an order that has been submitted, the order will fall back to your Uber Eats tablet. You will have 10 minutes to manually accept and key the order into your POS, or to reject the order. If no response is received within 10 minutes, Uber Eats will automatically cancel the order
Operating Hours will be controlled and set in Doshii. You may have previously set the store hours in the Uber Eats portal or configured your Uber Eats site to open based on whether your tablet is turned on or off.
When your Uber Eats integrated menu is ready, Doshii will seek your review and let you know what date we will activate this menu. From this date, the new integrated Doshii menu will be used for all future orders.
